Eagles Security Director Fined for Texting During Preseason Game
Reports indicate that Dom Disandro, the security director for the Eagles, was fined $75,000 for allegedly texting from the sideline during the preseason game on August 22.
Known informally as “Big Dom,” Disandro, who holds titles including general manager, chief security officer, and senior advisor to the coaching staff, argued that he was barely on the bench, claiming he had only one foot in the area. Nevertheless, this was deemed sufficient for the fine, as noted by NFL Network on Sunday.
Interestingly, Philadelphia sources mentioned that Disandro chose not to comment on the incident concerning the pro football context.
The game itself was significant for both teams as they made final adjustments ahead of the regular season. Although key players like Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and A.J. Brown sat out, the Eagles secured a close 19-17 victory.
Disandro gained notoriety in 2023 when a confrontation with former 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw went viral. Both were ejected from their December 3 matchup, resulting in Disandro being banned for the rest of that season, although he was allowed to return for the first playoff game in 2024.
Having joined the Eagles in 1999, Disandro has now been with the franchise for 27 seasons. In a previous Super Bowl Media Day, someone remarked, “No one is doing their job better in the NFL than Big Dom.” The sentiment emphasized how much he is admired by those around him, describing him as someone who genuinely wants to help, which is, I think, a remarkable quality.
“You can hear it from all our players about what they think of Dom. We all love him,” another source noted. “He’s the definition of teamwork and support.”
Looking ahead, the Eagles started their Super Bowl defense with two consecutive wins against the Cowboys and Chiefs, setting the stage for an exciting season.
