FBI Investigates Assassination of Charlie Kirk
FBI Director Kash Patel revealed on Sunday that the agency is looking into various “theories and questions” surrounding Charlie Kirk’s assassination, which occurred on September 10th.
In a post on X, Patel emphasized his dedication to delivering a comprehensive investigation into the incident. “We are examining every aspect of this assassination,” he noted.
He elaborated on the specifics being scrutinized, mentioning details like the location of the gunshot, the possibility of an accomplice, the text and chat conversations that could relate to confessions, and even the gestures observed near Kirk at the time of the attack.
Patel acknowledged that while some elements are already known, authorities continue to explore other possibilities to ensure no detail is overlooked. “Our main focus is to complete this research and achieve justice,” he stated. To maintain the integrity of the investigation, he added they cannot disclose all findings at this moment.
Addressing recent inquiries about a plane that allegedly turned off its transponder after departing from near Orem, Utah, where Kirk was shot, Patel mentioned, “We can share updates on the plane when our responses are confirmed.” He clarified that after discussions with the pilot and the FAA, it was determined that the transponder had not been turned off, though there were gaps in the flight data.
Patel underscored the weight of the investigation, indicating they are probing over 20 individuals related to Kirk’s assassination. “The entire FBI mourns the loss of Charlie Kirk,” he stated. “We will not stop until we achieve justice.” He reiterated that the investigation continues to address all outstanding questions.
His comments came on the same day as a memorial event for Charlie Kirk at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Vice President JD Vance, one of the featured speakers, expressed his intention to return to Arizona to honor Kirk’s sacrifice.
Vance reflected on the emotional toll of Kirk’s passing, saying, “Last week, I brought my dear friend Charlie Kirk home. May he rest in peace forever and God watch over Erica and her beautiful children.”
