Rep. Anna Paulina Luna Honors Charlie Kirk
During a memorial event for Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna from Florida expressed her deep admiration for Kirk’s unwavering commitment to inspiring America’s youth. Speaking at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, she remarked, “There’s no Rep. Luna without Charlie Kirk,” highlighting her close connection to him.
Luna shared her personal journey with Kirk, recalling pivotal phone conversations that altered her life. “Hey, Anna, Charlie. I want to provide my job as Texas National Hispanic Outreach Director,” she remembered vividly. This interaction had a significant impact on her decision to shift her path from medical school to working with Turning Point USA.
She noted how Kirk believed wholeheartedly in the potential of young people to transform the country. “These were sparks that lit my way,” she reflected, recalling his growth from a young leader to a powerful figure in politics.
In her speech, Luna compared Kirk’s leadership to that of historical icons like George Washington and Martin Luther King Jr., stressing that his legacy would be remembered in history.
Wrapping up her address, Luna looked out at the crowd of young attendees and emphasized the importance of Kirk’s vision. “Do you live as bold as Charlie did? Do you rise to the challenge as he did?” she prompted, encouraging the audience to continue his mission of restoring the nation’s values.
Following Kirk’s tragic assassination on September 10th, many Republican lawmakers, including Luna, have highlighted his legacy, calling for the removal of violent materials related to his death from social media. “He has a family, a young child, and not everyone should be forced to relive the tragedy online,” Luna added, underscoring the human impact of the event.
