Charlie Kirk’s Memorial Service in Glendale, Arizona
On September 21st, at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, a significant gathering unfolded. Thousands of faith leaders and attendees came together to celebrate the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk.
Lucas Miles, the executive director of Turning Point USA, suggested that this memorial could be one of the largest gospel events ever held. He mentioned, “Historic Days are not only for the United States, but also for the world, but for the kingdom of God,” just prior to the program commencing.
He added, “The Gospel will be shared more today than it ever has been in human history, and that’s what Charlie wanted.” Miles reflected on Kirk’s values, saying, “It’s about running everything Charlie is known for: debate, family, friends, and great organizations. More than that, Charlie was a Christian.”
Before the service escalated, Erica Kirk urged Christian attendees to remain “rooted in faith.” As the speakers took to the stage, many in the crowd waved red, white, and blue posters honoring Charlie Kirk, with some participants visibly emotional throughout the event.
William Wolf, the executive director of the Center for Baptist Leadership, recounted Secretary Pete Hegseth’s remarks. He noted that Kirk’s influence had shifted, stating, “Charlie Kirk started a political movement, but he ended it as a Christian movement. That was very obvious at the service we saw here today.” He emphasized that Kirk’s legacy was about bringing young people not just into conservative politics, but back to their faith.
Wolf claimed, “I think Charlie Kirk has made it cool to be a Christian again.” He also mentioned the atmosphere of the event, saying it was very much a worship service, not a political rally.
Others expressed their sentiments as well. Sandy from San Diego shared how she has followed Kirk over the years, declaring, “You can take the man, but you can’t take the voice.” She felt compelled to attend, believing it showed unity in support of Kirk’s family. Barbara from Toledo reflected on the spiritual presence, stating, “The Spirit of Jesus – the Holy Spirit is here, and Charlie was hoping for him.” She expressed optimism that a global resurrection of faith could emerge in the wake of Kirk’s influence.
Overall, the event turned out to be a heartfelt tribute to Charlie Kirk, combining worship, remembrance, and the hope that his legacy of faith would continue on.
