Trump Honors Charlie Kirk at Memorial Service

President Donald Trump was the featured speaker at Charlie Kirk’s memorial held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. During the event, he announced plans to present Kirk with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in the near future.

After an emotional address by Kirk’s widow, Erika, Trump described the nation as “in shock and in mourning.”

“Less than two weeks ago, our country lost one of the brightest lights of our times. A giant of his generation, a devoted husband, father, son, Christian, and patriot, Charles James Kirk was brutally murdered by a radicalized monster for simply speaking the truth,” Trump said.

Throughout his speech, Trump referred to Kirk as a “martyr,” declaring that “our greatest evangelist for American liberty became immortal.”

He shared a memorable interaction with Kirk, recalling that one of his last requests was, “Please, Sir, save Chicago.” Trump vowed that they would work to address the crime issues plaguing the city.

At one point, Trump teased about making a significant medical announcement, hinting at a project to “Make America Healthy Again.” He mentioned working alongside Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Mehmet Oz, suggesting there could be breakthroughs in autism treatment.

“Tomorrow, we’re going to make one of the biggest medical announcements in history. I think we found an answer to autism, how about that?” Trump said.

The president extended his condolences to Kirk’s parents, acknowledging the irreplaceable loss they experienced.

“To Charlie’s parents, who lost their beloved son, we know that no words could ever fill the void he leaves behind,” he noted.

“I hope the extraordinary outpouring of emotion over the past 11 days offers you some comfort knowing that your son brought more good and love into this world in his 31 years than most do in a lifetime,” he added.

Trump commended Kirk’s selflessness, candidly admitting, “[Charlie] wanted the best for his opponents. That’s where I disagree; I can’t stand my opponent.” He joked that Kirk might be upset with him for his feelings but recognized Kirk’s desire to persuade rather than demonize.

He confirmed that a ceremony would soon be held in Washington, D.C., to present Kirk with the prestigious honor.

“We will award Charlie the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House, a place he truly cherished,” Trump stated.

“God bless you, Charlie, and God bless the United States of America,” he concluded.

Before Trump’s address, the vice president, along with various cabinet members, shared their thoughts and personal anecdotes about Kirk, celebrating his legacy.
