Phil Mickelson Comments on Ilhan Omar and Jasmine Crockett Amid Erica Kirk’s Tribute to Her Husband

Phil Mickelson, a star of LIV Golf, recently made headlines through his comments related to Ilhan Omar from Minnesota and Jasmine Crockett from Texas, while also expressing appreciation for Erica Kirk during a service ceremony honoring her late husband, Charlie Kirk.

Erica Kirk delivered a heartfelt speech about her husband, who was tragically assassinated just weeks before at an event in Utah Valley University. Her bravery during this moment resonated widely on social media, especially during the memorial held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Mickelson referenced Erica’s strength on X, stating, “Amazing strength, and amazing grace.” He pointed out the stark contrast in rhetoric from Omar and Crockett, criticizing them for their harsh words that followed Erica’s forgiving remarks about the person accused of murdering her husband. “It’s astonishing,” he noted.

Omar faced backlash for her remarks aimed at Charlie Kirk’s legacy after his death. In a recent social media post, she referred to him as “Dr. Frankenstein,” suggesting that he should be forgotten entirely. “I was taken aback that there were those wanting to honor him,” she told CNN. “His legacy should not be celebrated.”

Crockett expressed her disappointment around the few Democrats who voted against a resolution to honor Kirk, noting a demographic trend in those votes. “It’s disheartening to see that,” she remarked, emphasizing the harmful impact of Charlie Kirk’s rhetoric on people of color.

As Erica spoke at her husband’s memorial, she highlighted Charlie’s desire to guide lost young men, individuals who felt directionless and consumed by negativity. “Charlie wanted to help them find a better path,” she shared, reflecting on his mission with Turning Point USA.

In a powerful moment of forgiveness, she related it back to Christ’s love, saying, “The answer to hatred is not hatred. It’s love, even for those who persecute us.”
