Ohio Woman Finds Hate Message on Starbucks Cup

An Ohio woman was taken aback when she discovered a hateful message on her Starbucks cup while ordering a drink on a recent Sunday evening.

Fall Perkins, from Middletown, Ohio, stopped by the Starbucks inside a Kroger store to order a mint beverage. To her surprise, she noticed the words “racist favorite drink” written on the cup by an employee.

Perkins expressed her dismay, stating, “It’s time for people to stop this nonsense.” After addressing the situation with the manager, she learned that the employee had admitted to writing the message, which ultimately resulted in their termination.

“I do think if someone behaves that way, they should lose their job,” Perkins added.

She emphasized the importance of respect in differing opinions, saying, “We don’t have to agree with everything. We can oppose a lot of things, but we respect each other.” She also pointed out that even just ignoring one another hinders communication and growth.

A spokesperson for Starbucks commented on the incident, labeling such behavior as unacceptable. They noted that there are policies in place to ensure a welcoming environment in their stores. The spokesperson clarified that this particular Starbucks is licensed and operated by Kroger, and the individual involved is no longer with the company.

Perkins mentioned that she often frequents Starbucks but has made the decision to stop going there altogether, stating, “I’m not spending another penny there. My family feels the same way.”
