White House officials confirm Tom Homan did not receive $50,000 from FBI agents

White House Responds to Allegations Against Tom Homan

Recent reports have surfaced regarding President Donald Trump’s border chief, Tom Homan, claiming that he did not accept money from FBI undercover agents as part of a closed investigation into potential bribery. The Justice Department reportedly concluded its probe into Homan in the last few weeks, as FBI Director Kash Patel sought updates on the situation.

Specifically, a report indicated that Homan was alleged to have received $50,000 from an individual he believed to be a business executive connected to the FBI, after suggesting he could assist with securing a government contract during the next Trump administration. However, the White House firmly denied these assertions, suggesting that Homan never received any cash.

“You should correct your facts because Mr. Homan has never received the $50,000 mentioned,” White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt stated to reporters. She further criticized the investigation as another instance of what she termed the Biden administration’s misuse of the Justice Department against Trump’s supporters.

Claims of Homan accepting cash have been contested by the White House, which said Trump has not directed the Justice Department to end the investigation. Earlier, officials from the Trump administration asserted that Homan would never accept such payments, emphasizing there was no evidence of wrongdoing.

“This matter was addressed under prior administrations, with thorough reviews by FBI and Justice Department officials finding no credible evidence of criminal behavior,” the statement continued. It stressed the importance of focusing on actual threats rather than unfounded investigations.

The White House underscored its view that the inquiry was politically charged and a means to target allies of Trump. They highlighted Homan’s long service in law enforcement and his significant contributions under Trump’s leadership.
