Olbermann Deletes Post Threatening CNN’s Jennings
Former ESPN and MSNBC host Keith Olbermann has deleted a post that seemingly threatened CNN’s Scott Jennings. This all unfolded on a Monday evening when Olbermann’s response to one of Jennings’ tweets started circulating online. In the now-deleted posts, he said, “You’re the next motherfucker,” and “But you’re continuing to rob the camera.”
While the comments are gone from Olbermann’s account, Jennings reposted screenshots and tagged FBI Director Kash Patel. The context of Jennings’ original tweets that prompted Olbermann’s reaction remains unclear, but it’s been noted that recent discussions among CNN commentators are related to unsuspending late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. Jennings pointed out that Democrats are vocal about perceived limitations on free speech, saying, “So basically his employer stopped him as an insensitive stab wound, and we don’t live in an authoritarian regime? We got it.”
Political violence has been a growing concern, especially following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. While Republicans mourn Kirk’s death, some online voices from the Democratic side have reportedly celebrated it. This incident adds to the rising tensions between the two parties, particularly as we approach the 2024 presidential election, where rhetoric has escalated significantly. Kamala Harris has labeled Trump as a fascist, and Biden has suggested he should face imprisonment.
A recent poll from Napolitan News Service revealed that 26% of people aged 18 to 34 feel sensitive about discussing political violence since Kirk’s assassination, with 24% of Democrats echoing these sentiments.
As of Monday evening, Olbermann has not publicly addressed requests for comment on his deleted posts.
