Market Updates on Key Companies

Investors were active today, particularly in the oil services sector, where stocks like Baker Hughes and Halliburton saw notable increases. Baker Hughes climbed over 4%, while both Halliburton and Transocean enjoyed an 8% boost amid a slight rise in oil prices, ending a four-day streak that had been positive.

In the energy sector, Sempra reported a 4% increase in its share price after announcing the sale of a 45% stake in its infrastructure division to KKR and the Canada Pension Plan for a total of $10 billion. Additionally, Sempra plans to invest $14 billion to expand its LNG facility in Port Arthur, Texas, which should enhance its position in the market.

Broadcasting shares were also in focus, particularly those of Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair, as Disney revealed it would resume its late-night show hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. This follows an indefinite pause due to controversial remarks made by Kimmel about a conservative activist. Nexstar’s shares rose by 1%, while Sinclair gained 3%. However, Disney shares experienced a slight dip.

On a positive note, McKesson’s stock rose more than 6% after the company provided encouraging forecasts during its Investor Day, predicting adjusted operating income between $6.2 billion and $6.4 billion, surpassing Wall Street’s expectation of $6.17 billion.

Conversely, Firefly Aerospace has seen its stocks drop nearly 12% since its launch last month, following disappointing financial outcomes in the second quarter. AutoZone, another significant player in the auto parts market, fell by 3% as its fourth-quarter revenue fell short of Wall Street’s projections, despite experiencing increased sales during that time and opting not to offer guidance for fiscal year 2026.

Kenvue’s stock gained 3% after recovering from a previous drop of over 7%. This decline was linked to findings regarding unproven connections between the use of Tylenol and acetaminophen during pregnancy and autism. In the aerospace sector, Boeing’s stocks increased by 2% following reports of a potentially big deal being finalized with U.S. ambassador to China, David Perdue.

Lastly, Micron Technology’s shares are edging up nearly 2% ahead of its earnings report set to be released on Tuesday afternoon.
