Man Arrested After Shooting at ABC Station in Sacramento

Authorities have reported that a 63-year-old man named Anibal Hernandez Santana is accused of firing a weapon at an ABC affiliate station in Sacramento, California, on September 19. He allegedly carried a note saying “to hide Epstein” and claimed that FBI Director Kash Patel and other officials were “next” on his list.

Santana faces multiple charges including possession of a firearm in a school zone as well as discharging a firearm in such an area, and he is also charged with interfering with a radio communication station. After posting bail on Saturday, law enforcement officials searched his vehicle and discovered a further note warning, “Don’t support Patel, Bongino, or Ag Pam Bondi. Next, don’t support CK from above.”

During a search of his home, investigators found a planner in which Santana had written a note suggesting a “next horrifying thing.” This raised further alarms for law enforcement.

Santana was initially charged with shooting into an occupied building and armed assault, among other offenses. His attorney, Mark Reichel, noted that the situation is quite unusual, as it is uncommon for someone to face both state and federal charges for the same act. Reichel added that they have yet to review the evidence and stressed that Santana maintains his innocence unless proven otherwise.

After the incident, Patel described the shooting as “unacceptable” in a social media post. He affirmed that targeted violence would be pursued to the full extent of the law.

Authorities confirmed that there were no injuries reported from the incident at the California news station, which has since boarded up the windows that were damaged by gunfire.
