Vice President JD Vance has addressed the tragic news regarding the recent helicopter crash that claimed the lives of four soldiers, including Andrew Kraus, the son of Mission BBQ co-founder Bill Klaus.
“It’s incredibly sad. A wonderful family and a great company. I hope Andrew and the other soldiers find peace,” Vance expressed in a post.
Bill Klaus and Steve Newton are the founders of a patriotic restaurant chain that honors American service members and first responders across 23 locations.
They believe there’s no greater honor than serving those who protect their communities and country. “We stand by the soldiers, firefighters, police officers, and first responders who dedicate their lives for us,” they stated.
A press release indicated that the service members were killed in an “aircraft accident” during routine flight training on September 17th.
The four victims have been identified as Andrew Kraus, 39, of Sanibel, Florida; Andrew Curry, 35, of Sparta, Missouri; 24-year-old Army Sgt. Donabong Scott from Tacoma, Washington; and 23-year-old US Army Sgt. Jaddaringd, from Mount Vernon, Washington.
In a heartfelt statement, Smith confirmed the loss of these “courageous night stalkers” from the 4th Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, highlighting their dedication and excellence that represent the spirit of military service.
