Peter Strzok's legal bid regarding his FBI dismissal fails

Federal Judge Dismisses Allegations Against Former FBI Agent Strzok

A federal judge has dismissed the claims made by former FBI agent Peter Strzok, who was terminated during President Trump’s first term. Strzok had been sending anti-Trump text messages while leading the investigation into possible Russian interference in the 2016 election, known as Crossfire Hurricane.

According to Judge Amy Berman Jackson, who was appointed by President Obama, only two main issues remain unresolved: whether Strzok’s dismissal infringed on his First Amendment rights and if his termination violated the Fifth Amendment, which protects against loss of property without fair legal processes.

The court concluded that Strzok’s personal interest in expressing political opinions while using FBI devices outweighed the FBI’s concern about possible bias impacting ongoing investigations and law enforcement operations, particularly under then FBI Director Christopher Wray.

The judge noted that claims regarding due process were based on misrepresentation of timelines and facts. It was stated that there is no evidence supporting Strzok’s assertion that he had a contract, nor that he lacked proper notice regarding his termination.

The ruling also indicated that opinions contained in the memorandum associated with this case are currently under seal. The court has requested updates regarding any objections to keeping these opinions sealed by September 30, 2025.
