Rory McIlroy Set to Represent Europe in Ryder Cup
Farmingdale, New York – This weekend, Rory McIlroy will showcase his skills at Beth Page Black as a member of Team Europe, competing in his eighth Ryder Cup.
McIlroy was part of the last European team to win the Ryder Cup back in 2012, and he’s keen to replicate that success. Interestingly, he even predicted a victory two years after securing a win against Team USA on their home turf.
Reflecting on his experiences, McIlroy expressed deep appreciation for the United States, dubbing it “the best country in the world.” He fondly recalled his childhood aspirations to succeed in America, highlighting the opportunities available. “If you come here and work hard, you can achieve anything you want,” he stated.
McIlroy, who’s settled in Hollywood, Florida since 2010, has great affection for his adopted home. “I think success is celebrated here,” he shared, noting his American wife and the strong bond he feels with the country.
As a standout on the PGA Tour, McIlroy has an impressive record, boasting a 5-2 standing in his previous Ryder Cup appearances.
