Brooks Nader’s Journey from Baton Rouge to Hollywood
Brooks Nader, at 28, has taken a bold leap into the world of Hollywood, leaving behind her conservative upbringing in Baton Rouge. Growing up in a devout family surrounded by her parents and three younger sisters, she always dreamt of city life, despite her parents’ reluctance.
The star of “Love Your Nader” has shared how her family viewed her aspirations negatively. Nader openly admits that her sisters once staged an intervention due to concerns about her weight loss linked to modeling.
“For most of our childhood, my dad worked for a nonprofit, while my mom stayed home,” Nader recalls. “We didn’t have much money, so we relied on each other and our dedication. I wouldn’t trade that nurturing for anything.”
Despite the financial struggles, Nader’s fascination with Hollywood and fashion was undeniable. “I always wanted to look sexy and express myself,” she reflects, adding that the idea of living in New York or Los Angeles felt distant but appealing.
When she turned 18, she made her move, heading to New York after being discovered by modeling scouts. “I told my parents, ‘We’re moving to the Hamptons for the summer!'” she said, despite their disapproval. But it worked out; she managed to secure a financial internship and get her footing.
Her career took off, and Nader shared how she juggled early modeling jobs, often working late for low pay. “I’m grateful for those gigs,” she admitted. “You can’t rely on others; it’s all about your hustle.”
With dreams of appearing in the “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue,” she took initiative when her agency didn’t seem to support her. She attended an open call in Miami, waiting among thousands of hopefuls. Ultimately, she was one of the few chosen and later voted Rookie of the Year by fans.
“Five years later, I made the cover,” she said with a hint of pride, reflecting on how people began to take her seriously at that point. When it comes to her younger sisters, she aims to be a positive role model. “It’s a blessing to create and play together,” she mentioned.
Nader’s time on “Dancing with the Stars” garnered attention, but she clarified that she’s currently single. About what attracts her, she mentioned, “It’s all about personality and humor. A great listener and someone supportive of my dreams, that’s what I like.”
She’s also navigated personal challenges, including her divorce from Billy Haire, which she announced in 2024 after five years of marriage. “When I was younger, all I thought about was getting married and being a good wife,” she reflected, acknowledging that societal expectations influenced her decisions in the past.
Now, focused on her career, Nader dreams of portraying a version of herself in a film—a lively southern girl making her way in the bustling world of New York. “I relate to Eva Longoria’s experience in ‘Desperate Housewives,'” she said, “where she felt she didn’t even need to act!”
