Trump Orders Release of Amelia Earhart Files
Donald Trump has announced an intention to declassify and release all government records related to Amelia Earhart, including those concerning her final journey.
In a recent statement, Trump expressed, “I am directing the administration to make public all records about Amelia Earhart, her last flight, and any other related documents.” He went on to highlight the widespread curiosity surrounding Earhart’s story, especially her mysterious disappearance, which has intrigued many for nearly nine decades.
In a message shared on social media, Trump noted, “Many people have asked me about Amelia Earhart’s life. It’s such an intriguing tale. I believe we should release everything about her, particularly regarding her last fateful flight. She was a trailblazer in aviation, being the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic and achieving numerous other landmarks in aviation history. Her disappearance in the South Pacific, while aiming to be the first woman to circumnavigate the globe, captured global attention. I am ordering the release of all government documents related to her. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Earlier, Kimberlin King Hins, who represents the Northern Mariana Islands in the House of Representatives, urged Trump to make these documents public.
In a letter addressed to the President, King Hins noted the significance of Earhart’s story in her district and mentioned that many seniors had shared reliable accounts of seeing her in Saipan.
King Hins had encouraged the release of these files back in July, expressing in her correspondence, “Earhart’s story carries weight within my community. If there are any records regarding her journey and its outcome that have yet to be disclosed, their release would contribute significantly to understanding one of America’s most revered aviators and would clarify the final chapter of her extraordinary life.”
