Expansion of Tax Credits for Unaware Individuals, Says Laborigna
Joe Laborigna, a counselor to U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent, shared insights about expanding tax credits to those who might not even know they qualify, as discussed in a recent segment on Breitbart News.
Laborigna touched on the much-discussed “no tax on tips” initiative that President Trump signed on July 4th, describing it as part of a significant legislative package.
Reflecting on the past, he noted, “I wasn’t working for Secretary Bescent then, but I remember the skepticism from people who doubted it would happen. Yet, the president went ahead and signed it on July 4th.” He further expressed concern about the complexities involved, stating, “Many don’t realize how challenging it is for the Treasury Department and particularly the IRS to implement these new guidelines.”
He emphasized, “There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work required that people may overlook, which complicates the process.” Regarding timelines, Laborigna reiterated the president’s commitment, saying, “We knew we had to expedite this so individuals can receive their refunds as swiftly as possible. I want everything to function flawlessly, and taxpayers should expect early refunds next year.”
Laborigna also highlighted that the initiative would extend to content creators, stating, “We intend to ensure that digital creators, including YouTubers and podcasters, receive the tax deductions they deserve.”
He underscored the importance of these credits for today’s content-driven economy, remarking, “Those involved in modern industries should certainly take advantage of this critical tax credit.” He further elaborated on the bill’s impact, suggesting it had a stabilizing effect on the economy while mitigating potentially recession-inducing policies. “It not only halted harmful practices but also encouraged investment in businesses and job creation,” he noted.
Laborigna concluded by mentioning that the effects of these changes are already beginning to be felt.
