Honoring Charlie Kirk at Steak ‘n Shake
The owner of the Steak ‘n Shake in Rome, Georgia, has been showing notable support for Charlie Kirk, the founder of Free Speech Champion and Turning Point USA, sparking quite a bit of attention.
Wayne Robinson, the president of Wayne Robinson Holdings, shared with Fox News that a significant sign was created on September 11, the day following Kirk’s tragic assassination. This tribute was aimed at celebrating conservative values.
The billboard features a poignant message: “Charlie Kirk, 1993-2025. Stand up, speak up, stay boldly,” complemented by a picture of Kirk with a microphone.
Kirk was shot at a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University on September 10. His death has ignited a broad movement, encouraging gatherings aimed at fostering civil discourse and discussions about faith.
Reflecting on his admiration for Kirk, Robinson stated, “I have always been a follower of Charlie,” adding that he had significantly impacted the lives of many young people. “He touched me,” Robinson said.
Locals have responded enthusiastically to the sign, and people from outside the town have mentioned they planned to visit the restaurant to express their solidarity. Additionally, Robinson noted that calls from other states have come in, with many expressing their appreciation for the bold message displayed.
Robinson mentioned that he usually needs to get approval for such signage from the corporate office, but the owner was so impressed that he sought necessary permissions to expand this tribute nationwide.
The day after Kirk’s death, Steak ‘n Shake issued a heartfelt statement, expressing their sorrow. They described Kirk as a devoted husband and father, a powerful advocate for freedom, and a courageous patriot.
They added, “His commitment to elevating public discourse and defending freedom of speech and debate has impacted millions around the world. He was a great American who was deeply overlooked.” The restaurant extended their condolences to his family and loved ones.
In discussing Kirk’s legacy, Robinson remarked on the revival he seemed to spark across America, suggesting that Kirk likely never imagined such a movement would emerge following his assassination. “But the movement is amazing… and I’m grateful for everything he did,” he concluded.
