John Bon Jovi Supports His Son’s Marriage and Adoption Journey

John Bon Jovi has expressed his full support for his son, Jake Bongiovi, who recently married Millie Bobby Brown in his early 20s. They’ve made headlines this summer with their decision to adopt a baby girl together.

During an appearance on Bunnie Xo’s podcast, “Dumb Blonde,” Bon Jovi shared that he feels “blessed” about the couple’s union, reflecting on his own youthful experiences with love. He mentioned, “We got it, so we blessed it. They’re a bit mature beyond their years,” referring to the couple’s strong relationship.

Bon Jovi also noted how Millie’s background, with her parents having a stable marriage, contributed to their outlook on marriage. “She and Jake fell in love and we just thought, ‘Okay, we’ll support this.’ And it’s going well,” he added.

Millie and Jake’s wedding took place in May 2024, following their engagement in April of the previous year. Brown was just 20 and Bongiovi was 22 at the time, which stirred some debate online about their young ages.

“We got it, so we congratulated it. They’re a bit mature beyond their years.”

Bon Jovi, who himself married his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Harley, at 27, is in favor of their young marriage. Millie, too, mentioned on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that growing up with young, married parents influenced her perspective. “We grew up with such a great role model, so we didn’t see anything different,” she remarked.

She’s always wanted to be a mother, inspired by her parents. “My mother had her first child at 21; my dad was 19. This was mine even before I met Jake,” she shared, further emphasizing her dreams of starting a family.

In August, the couple announced via Instagram that they had welcomed their baby girl through adoption, expressing their excitement for this new chapter in their lives.

Bon Jovi shared his joy during the podcast, noting that he is excited to be a grandfather. He even joked about wanting regular updates and photos of the baby, saying, “I want to see the photos every other day.”

It’s clear that Bon Jovi’s family is on a journey filled with love and support as they embrace this new role of parenthood and grandparenthood.
