Unexpected Delivery by Police in Texas
A Texas man had quite the surprise when a police officer showed up at his door with his Uber Eats order. Earlier this month, deputies from the Harris County Constable’s office pulled over the driver upon noticing that the car’s license plates didn’t match the vehicle.
It didn’t take long for the officer to realize that the driver was displaying a fake license plate, which led to the decision to make an arrest. But, interestingly, as they looked deeper into the situation, the officers discovered that the suspect was actually in the middle of completing an Uber Eats delivery.
Instead of allowing customers to miss out on their meals, the officers decided to take matters into their own hands. “To make sure that citizens received their order, Associate Chapa stepped up and personally delivered the food,” said Constable Mark Hermann.
The department posted a series of photos showing officers delivering food after arriving at the client’s home. One particular image captures the surprise on a customer’s face upon seeing the police at his door.
Mastering both law enforcement and community service, Hermann praised the officers for their extra effort. Meanwhile, the suspect, identified as Ronaldo Carrillo, was arrested and taken to Harris County Jail.
Carrillo, 47, faced charges for tampering with government records, with bonds set at $100.
This isn’t the first instance of law enforcement stepping in to help hungry individuals. Back in July, police in Arizona took it upon themselves to deliver a woman’s Grubhub order after her driver was arrested during a traffic stop.
A video shared by the Tempe Police featured an officer surprising a customer while delivering pizza. Similarly, in 2022, Florida police stepped in to deliver a DoorDash order after apprehending a driver with unresolved warrants.
In Florida, the Hillsboro County Sheriff’s Office also showcased their good deeds on social media, highlighting how their deputies went above and beyond by delivering food after an arrest.
