Adams Gave His All for New York
Let’s set aside the formalities regarding Eric Adams and focus on what truly matters.
His companion might not have been a genius. Perhaps there’s more time to learn than to brag, but, well, we all have our flaws. Just ask James Comey’s lawyer or Putin’s therapist.
Adams has a genuine passion for the city. His love for this job is evident. He’s tackled issues like rats, cockroaches, crime, delivery bikes, scaffolding, high rents, and empty storefronts. A lot of us remember the era under de Blasio—let’s just say it wasn’t great.
He’s taken on mental health challenges, local economy issues, bail reform, and the growing extremism in politics. Some say he’s aiming too high, but he’s clearly trying. His family dynamics speak volumes; once, he had 15 cats living with him. While he may be good at managing those cats, it feels like he’s still searching for the major support he needs. He enjoys being in the public eye, and who knows? He might make more on the radio than he does as mayor. But honestly, what’s his endgame?
There’s a certain charm in his ambitions, and perhaps he seeks national recognition by reflecting our collective frustrations. This is how a perception develops about governance. A couple of disgruntled Russians took down their leader, and look at their situation now!
A female reader recently pointed out that Adams was removed from discussions, which I hadn’t realized. So, yes, it’s true, and I appreciate her insight. It’s funny how a few weeks ago, everyone would have loved to discuss this. I suppose I could even mention her name if she wants me to.
Changes in Airline Regulations
It seems the protection for airline passengers has taken a hit. Confused by a flight cancellation? You might be out of luck—no free meals or accommodations. Traveling in a wagon might be the best option now.
Airline industry representatives have welcomed the recent changes made by the Trump administration.
One industry voice noted they appreciate the Department of Transportation’s willingness to reconsider regulations that may not help ‘our customers’ as intended.
While airlines do offer some level of customer service for cancellations and delays, getting assistance usually means figuring it out at the airport; their promises lack the backing of federal rules.
Paul Hudson, president of Flyersrights.org, criticized the lack of compensation rules and called for incentives to ensure reliability in the system.
Real Estate Deals Worth Mentioning
Even those outside New York are making moves. Johnny Carson’s former Malibu property is up for grabs—four acres with ocean views for $110 million. Meanwhile, Jackie Gleeson’s Hudson Valley home, all round rooms, is listed at $5.5 million. And there’s Marvin Hamlisch’s Sag Harbor gem, a 200-year-old Greek revival with views of an otter pond—all for a cool $400,000.
NYC Therapist: “Do you believe you have multiple personalities?”
Patient: “Are you addressing us?”
Only in New York City Hall, really.
