Lamar Jackson’s Injury Could Keep Him Out of Action
The Ravens might face a challenging situation with their quarterback, Lamar Jackson, who has previously secured an MVP title.
Jackson is likely to be sidelined when Baltimore plays against Houston at home this Tuesday. He suffered a hamstring injury during Week 5, which has raised questions about his availability moving forward.
While the exact schedule for his return is unclear, a source indicated he might be out for 2-3 weeks due to the nature of the injury. That said, insiders noted that Jackson, who is 28, is eager to see if he can make it back for Sunday’s game.
In a previous game, Jackson played until the third quarter during a 37-20 loss to Kansas City on September 28, 2025.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh spoke with reporters on Monday and stated there’s “no way” of guaranteeing Jackson will be back soon.
“The injury took him out of the game. He would have played if possible. That’s just how he is,” Harbaugh mentioned.
Before exiting, Jackson completed 14 of 20 passes for 147 yards, tossing one touchdown while also throwing an interception. Backup quarterback Cooper Rush stepped in as the relief.
Currently, the Ravens hold a 1-3 record this season, which complicates things even further for the team.
Harbaugh remarked on Rush’s skills, affirming, “Everyone knows his game. If he’s on the field, it’s part of our strategy.” He joined the Ravens in free agency earlier this year, and should Jackson remain out, he may need to step up considerably.
In addition to Jackson’s injury, the team is missing defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike for the remainder of the season due to a neck issue. Linebacker Roquan Smith is also expected to be out for a few weeks, and cornerback Marlon Humphrey is dealing with hamstring problems, adding to the Ravens’ injury woes.
After their game against the Texans, the Ravens will host the Rams on October 12, followed by a bye week in Week 7.
