Robert Irwin’s “Dancing with the Stars” Performance
Robert Irwin is feeling great these days, and he made quite a splash on “Dancing with the Stars” during a segment called “Tictoknight.” The wildlife conservationist entertained the audience with a lively shirtless dance to “Million Dollar Baby” by Tommy Richman, which definitely caught everyone off guard.
Irwin, at just 21 years old, expressed his feelings about the performance, saying, “I was upset that I had to put my shirt back on! It was a bit fun, I liked it.” The routine was choreographed by his professional partner, Witney Carson. He wanted to display a different side of himself, particularly with an edgy song like that.
He quipped, “I knew ‘Cool guy Robert’ was somewhere inside, and I thought, ‘I want to unleash new energy.'” Witney was all for it, and they went for it.
Robert, who is the son of the late “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, also shared in his performance that he is currently single and still searching for the right American girl. Since then, he’s noticed quite a surge in attention. “Oh, my goodness, DMs,” he chuckled, acknowledging the influx with a hint of amusement. “Yeah, I’m keeping an eye on it.”
Witney and Robert’s sister, Bindi Irwin, have also received lots of messages from fans. Witney joked about their busy schedule, saying, “We’re trying to win the mirror ball, so stay calm! Maybe don’t email me 100 times a day.” She described the review process for the dances as quite stressful. Bindi, meanwhile, has taken a back seat, saying she couldn’t handle the pressure anymore.
During “Tictok Night,” Robert and Witney performed a salsa routine, earning them a score of 22 out of 30 from the judges. As expected, social media lit up with reactions to their passionate performance. One viewer remarked on the energy, saying, “The first smolder, he takes off his shirt… It’s really serious for Robert Irwin.” Another chimed in with a humorous appreciation for the moment, thanking everyone involved for making that show memorable.
Even with the positive reaction and high scores, Robert feels the pressure of following in his sister’s footsteps after Bindi’s win in Season 21. He quoted her saying, “I really leaned down on this and really tasted it every second.” Robert added that she had put in months of effort and saw her success come and go in an instant.
“Dancing with the Stars” will continue with “Disney Night” next Tuesday at 8 PM on ABC and Disney+. If you miss it, new episodes are available on Hulu the following day.
