Candace Cameron Bure to Lead Bible Reading Event for America’s 250th Birthday
Candace Cameron Bure is set to be a prominent figure in “America Reads the Bible,” a faith-centered event to honor the 250th anniversary of the United States next year in Washington, D.C.
Bure, who holds the position of chief creative officer at an American media company, will be participating in a week-long event at the Bible Museum, scheduled from April 18 to April 25, 2026.
“Candace has been a reliable voice for faith and family values for many years, and we’re thrilled to have her read the Bible,” said Bill Abbott, a leading figure in American media.
Abbott further emphasized, “The recent tragedy highlights the importance of coming together in faith and prayer. This historic occasion presents us the chance to share God’s Word in a manner that uplifts and fortifies our nation. We’re privileged to be part of such a significant celebration.”
As stated in a press release from America Reads the Bible (ARTB), the inspiration behind the event comes from Ezra, the Biblical prophet known for reading the Bible to the Israelites. There will be a week-long reading from Genesis to Revelation, broadcasted live on a Christian Studies platform from 9 AM to 9 PM, also available on the Pure Flix channel.
The event is organized by various Christian groups. Buni Pound, one of the event’s founders, noted, “America Reads the Bible invites individuals across the nation to contemplate the Bible’s historical significance in American life and its lasting relevance to families today.” They believe the event has the potential to spark a national revival.
Pound added, “This is a sacred opportunity for the Bible to guide our nation back to its spiritual roots. Continuous readings throughout our capital, led by influential national leaders, could encourage Americans to actively engage with their nation’s stories for the next 250 years.”
Numerous Christian organizations will contribute to this initiative, including the Bible Reading, Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), and National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, among others. Worship leaders like Phil King, Lean, Meredith Andrews, and Dustin Smith will also join the event.
