Teen charged with assault after incident at NBA Youngboy concert

Teen Arrested After Alleged Assault at Concert

A 14-year-old boy, labeled as a young thug, has been accused of attacking 66-year-old Thomas Schlange during an NBA Young Boy concert at the T-Mobile Center. The incident led to the teenager’s arrest shortly after Schlange reported it this week.

According to reports, Schlange asked the boy to move from a seat that wasn’t his. In response, the teenager allegedly threw Schlange into a queue and began hitting him.

Having worked at the arena for 17 years, Schlange expressed relief that accountability is being pursued. He noted, however, that it’s unfortunate that such extreme measures were necessary. “Restraint, cooperation, and respect are important lessons to learn,” he commented.

In an emotional aftermath, Schlange admitted that he barely remembers the attack and felt shaken by the whole experience.

He also mentioned that he sustained serious injuries, having hit his head during the altercation. “It’s serious,” he remarked after the incident, highlighting that his primary concern was the safety of the concertgoers.

Schlange’s grandson, Harbor Lopez, has taken the initiative to start a fundraising campaign to assist his grandfather financially while he recuperates and deals with the job loss due to the injuries.

The disturbing events were captured on video by local Pastor Robert McDaniel, who indicated that the teenager became aggressive when confronted about the ticket issue.

Antonio Crater, the sole bystander who intervened to stop the attack, remarked that the teenager’s aggression was overwhelming. As of now, the unidentified teen faces charges for one felony assault and one misdemeanor assault, but the case’s hearing will not be open to the public, in accordance with Missouri law.
