Carson Beck recently opened up about his breakup with Hannah Cavinder, marking his first public statement on the matter.
Beck, who plays quarterback for the University of Miami, was previously in a relationship with Cavinder, a standout in women’s basketball. They started dating in the summer of 2024, but by spring, they had gone their separate ways. This was confirmed via social media in August, after they first made their connection public.
In a recent article from ESPN, Beck reflected on the challenges of the situation, calling it “difficult.” He mentioned, “You can make mistakes, and it gets exhausting dealing with these issues with people you care about. Half of what the media reports is accurate. The other half varies. People pick sides based on their interpretations. But those who really know the truth, they know it. Still, it was tough.”
The report noted that Beck and Cavinder have not communicated since their breakup. Speculation regarding their relationship began in March when Cavinder deleted all references to Beck from her social media profiles.
In April, Cavinder addressed the separation in a video on Kite Ramp’s YouTube channel, clarifying that her breakup with Beck wasn’t due to the rumors about infidelity. She said, “He has this habit of flipping people upside down at bars. I’m just embarrassed.” Her remarks came while she and her sister, Haley, were speaking with Donald Trump’s granddaughter.
Cavinder further explained, “So, I ended things, but I didn’t know all this drama about cheating would emerge later. That wasn’t my reason for the breakup.”
Interestingly, she didn’t explicitly name Beck in the video.
Before the split, Beck had transferred to Miami following a challenging season at Georgia in 2024. He seems to have found his stride with the Hurricanes this season, already racking up 972 passing yards and seven touchdowns across four games. Miami currently holds an unbeaten record and is ranked third.
