White House Adviser Says ICE Agents Will Be at the Bad Bunny Super Bowl Halftime Show: 'We Will Deport You'

Corey Lewandowski, an advisor to the Department of Homeland Security, mentioned that immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) agents will be on-site at the Super Bowl now that the NFL has selected Bad Bunny to headline the halftime performance.

According to Breitbart News, Bad Bunny has openly criticized ICE and previously vowed not to perform in the U.S. in protest of the Trump administration.

“Honestly, I can’t jeopardize the safety of my fans. Being in mainland America doesn’t feel necessary for me anymore,” he stated before the NFL announced him for the halftime show. “I’ve performed here many times. American fans have had plenty of chances to see me live.”

The artist expressed concerns about a potential ICE raid at his U.S. concerts, as he told ID Magazine last month.

“There was an issue. [with my concerts]. It’s something that worried us a lot,” he noted.

After the NFL confirmed him for the halftime show, the singer did not share any specific thoughts on the decision.

“What I feel goes beyond myself. It predates me and has gone many yards, so now I get to score a touchdown. This is for my people, my culture, and our story.”

Lewandowski informed Benny Johnson on Wednesday that ICE operations will take place during the Super Bowl.

“We can’t allow illegal safe havens for anyone in this country. It’s not just the Super Bowl; it’s everywhere,” he remarked. “We’ll find you. We’ll detain you. We’ll deport you. This is a very real situation under this administration.”

“It’s quite embarrassing that they would select someone who seems to have a problem with America to represent them during the halftime show,” he said.

“I attended the Super Bowl with President Trump last year. I got to enjoy the game from his box,” Lewandowski added. “We should strive to be inclusive rather than exclusive. There are many great bands and entertainers who could come together and make a show that unites people instead of dividing them.”
