Robert Griffin III and his family were in a frightening car accident in Texas and came out safe.

On Friday, Robert Griffin III described a “terrifying crash” he and his family experienced in Fort Worth, Texas. He shared on social media that the white vehicle involved suffered significant damage, while the specifics about the vehicle he was driving remain unclear.

Griffin recounted how they ended up “bombing off the highway divider multiple times,” leading to both front tires blowing out. He expressed immense relief that his wife and children came away from the accident unscathed, stating, “Thank God that my wife and children are safe.” Prior to the incident, he had mentioned on social media, “Jesus is the reason for the season.”

According to police, it was a “major” four-car collision that took place just before noon, although one vehicle left the scene prior to their arrival. One person was taken to a hospital, but the extent of their injuries is not clear, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Griffin, who was the second overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and won the Heisman Trophy at Baylor, has faced ups and downs in his career. After starting strong, a torn ACL during his rookie season significantly impacted his trajectory. He last played in 2020 with the Baltimore Ravens, having previously spent time with the Washington team until 2015 and as a backup for the Cleveland Browns in 2016.

Now, as he moves forward, Griffin remains focused on his family, sports commentary work, and looking ahead to upcoming games.
