Robert Griffin III and his family involved in the worst car accident of their lives

Robert Griffin III, the former NFL player, was involved in a serious car accident on Friday. He shared updates on social media, disclosing that it happened in Fort Worth, Texas, while he was with his wife and children.

Griffin described the incident as “the worst car accident in our lives,” mentioning that the vehicle hit the highway divider multiple times and resulted in both front tires being blown out. Thankfully, he expressed gratitude that his family emerged unscathed.

At 35 years old, Griffin posted pictures showing considerable damage to his vehicle, highlighting the crash’s severity.

He was in Fort Worth to prepare for the TCU-Colorado game scheduled for the following day, so his participation in the broadcast is currently uncertain.

Traveling in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, the accident involved multiple vehicles. Griffin’s wife, Grete, had shared a photo on her Instagram Story earlier, showing her excitement about traveling with him and their family.

Interestingly, Griffin wasn’t the one driving during the crash. Grete noted that four cars were involved. She also emphasized their gratitude for their children’s safety, despite suffering some injuries themselves. “Thankful our kids are safe and okay,” she remarked. “Robert and I are a bit shaken up, but love always heals!”

The couple, who have three daughters, shared that they all went through medical check-ups, revealing Grete hit her head and needed a CT scan while Robert had his back examined.

Griffin, a standout quarterback who won Rookie of the Year after being drafted second overall in 2012, had an impressive run with Washington before injuries hindered his career. He’s currently employed as a college football analyst, previously working with ESPN.

The football community rallied, sending well wishes and prayers for the family’s recovery.
