Charlize Theron Snubs Johnny Depp at Dior Show
At Dior’s Spring/Summer show during Paris Fashion Week, Charlize Theron seemed to overlook her former co-star Johnny Depp, leading to some speculation. The two worked together in the 1999 film “The Astronaut’s Wife,” but during this recent event, Theron was seen greeting various attendees, including LVMH Chairman Bernard Arnault and French First Lady Brigitte Macron, without acknowledging Depp.
Theron, 50, appeared cheerful as she exchanged air kisses, but after moving away from Macron, she continued on without so much as a glance at Depp, who was left behind looking somewhat awkward. It’s unclear what might have prompted this snub, especially considering Depp’s past issues, including the controversy surrounding his ex-wife Amber Heard and domestic violence allegations that emerged during the Washington Post’s 2018 op-eds.
Despite the tension, Depp has recently found some success, winning a libel case against Heard in 2022. He was awarded $10 million in compensatory damages along with $5 million in punitive damages, although Heard received a smaller counterclaim victory with $2 million in compensatory damages—no punitive damages were awarded to her.
Post-trial, Depp’s career has seen a resurgence, highlighted by his role in the film “Jeanne du Barry” and a lucrative $20 million deal with Dior for a new fragrance. On the other hand, Theron has been the face of Dior’s J’adore perfume for two decades and continues to represent their jewelry and skincare lines.
As of now, there has been no public comment from Theron’s representatives regarding the incident.
