Stephen Fisk’s Unforgettable Victory
Stephen Fisk and his wife, Edith, experienced a moment they will always remember. After sinking a birdie on the final hole of the Sanderson Farms Championship, the rookie golfer embraced Edith, who has been his biggest supporter, as he celebrated his first PGA Tour win and a prize of $1.08 million in Jackson, Mississippi.
A video capturing the scene highlights their journey, dating back to at least 2018. Edith is seen cheering enthusiastically before leaping into his arms and expressing, “I’m so proud of you,” in a clip shared on PGA Tour’s X page.
Fisk climbed up the leaderboard starting with a 2-under 70 in the first round, then followed with two impressive rounds of 7-under 65. He wrapped up the tournament with an 8-under 64, which included three consecutive birdies on the back nine.
Reflecting on the competition, Fisk mentioned, “Based on the score earlier this week, we didn’t have our target score in mind today. I knew it would require more birdies than anything else. I needed them at the end, so I was trying to make as many as possible.”
Originally from Georgia, Fisk took up golf when he was just five years old, influenced by his parents who owned a driving range and par-3 courses in Stockbridge. He previously marked a milestone by winning his first Corn Ferry event at the Club Car Championship in April 2024. In a heartfelt post on Instagram, he expressed gratitude for the support he’s received and looked forward, stating this is just the beginning.
