Cheryl Hines Expresses Concerns for Husband’s Safety in Upcoming Election
Actress Cheryl Hines recently shared her worries about her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., in an interview with CBS. She expressed that she feels “very worried” about his safety as he gears up for the 2024 presidential election.
In a preview aired on “CBS Mornings,” host Gayle King showcased clips of Hines, highlighting her concerns regarding the lack of Secret Service protection for Kennedy. “Since he announced his run, everything changed for us,” Hines remarked. “It’s been stressful knowing that Bobby doesn’t have Secret Service protection.”
Kennedy previously campaigned as an independent before pulling back to support Republican Donald Trump.
During the interview, Hines revealed, “I think someone would remind me daily, and I was quite concerned about it.” The complete interview is set to broadcast on “CBS Mornings” soon. Kennedy is at the forefront of a movement advocating for healthier policies in America and has faced backlash due to his views on vaccines and health department management.
Despite Kennedy’s family history—his father and uncle were both assassinated in the 1960s—he has repeatedly been denied Secret Service protection from the Biden administration during his campaign.
It’s worth noting that Kennedy did receive protection after an assassination attempt against Trump last year, but that was removed once he ceased his campaign efforts and rallied behind Trump.
Currently, the Biden administration’s rejection of additional security has raised eyebrows, especially in light of a break-in at one of Kennedy’s events in September 2023. Now, he relies on U.S. Marshals for security.
