During a press conference in June, Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) expressed that being forcibly removed after allegedly “slashing” at Secretary Kristi Noem should have served as a clear warning.

“I never would have thought something like this could happen,” stated far-left Senator Lulu Garcia-Navarro recently. “It’s hard to believe that a response like that would come from someone just trying to ask questions.”

A video captured the moment, showing a U.S. intelligence officer grabbing Padilla as he approached Noem during the event in Los Angeles. The officer forcefully pushed him out.

Once in the hallway, officers restrained Padilla on the floor and handcuffed him.

The incident drew sharp criticism from Democrats, while the Department of Homeland Security stated that “Senator Padilla initiated a disruptive scene during the live press conference, moving aggressively towards Secretary Noem.”

“Padilla was given multiple warnings to leave, yet he disregarded those instructions. The Secret Service viewed him as a threat, prompting necessary action,” officials highlighted in a statement, noting that Noem later had a conversation with Padilla.

Padilla remarked, “We didn’t really get an apology, but honestly, I wasn’t surprised given the current administration’s approach.”

He added, “I wish I could say the meeting was more productive. When I asked her about the numbers, she seemed uncertain, saying, ‘What’s your question?'”

He reflected further, mentioning, “We kept hearing stories about people with no violent criminal records being arrested. I wanted to ask for more stats, especially since Noem mentioned only a few names during her presentation, while many more seemed to have been detained.”

“If this is how they handle inquiries from a senator, think about how they treat the average person when the spotlight isn’t on. This is a significant warning,” he emphasized.

When questioned if he thought his removal was deliberate or mistaken, Padilla simply stated, “It was definitely an excessive response.”
