Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Enjoy Their New Dynamic

Sources have indicated to Page 6 that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have a much improved relationship now that they’re no longer married.

The ex-spouses reunited in New York on a Monday night to promote their film, “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” marking the first release since their divorce was finalized in January.

Lopez is optimistic that the film could be nominated for an Oscar. However, the highlight of the premiere was not just her performance in front of the camera but also her easygoing interaction with Affleck, who produced the film.

A source shared, “They really enjoy each other’s company when they’re not married.” They noted that both have distinctive roles in their relationship: “She embodies the glamorous diva, and he plays the charming rogue, keeping things interesting.”

According to another source, “As long as they stick to their roles, they find a kind of perfection together. They’re perhaps not the best as a married couple.”

Lopez, 56, and Affleck, 53, both appeared to be in good spirits during the event. Affleck praised his ex-wife, acknowledging the contributions of “extras” and highlighting her surprising talent.

The film features Lopez in the role of Ingrid Luna/Aurora/The Spider Woman, a project that Affleck’s artist equity production company, which he co-founded with Matt Damon, had been involved with prior to their separation.

Affleck expressed his belief that Lopez was “born to play” this role, emphasizing his pride in the film: “I can’t wait for audiences to see it. I’ve never been prouder of a project.” He also commended her work ethic, mentioning her dedication during the early stages of the film’s development.

During an appearance on “Today,” Lopez humorously acknowledged the split but also gave credit to Affleck, saying, “If it wasn’t for Ben, the film probably wouldn’t have happened.”

The couple had two weddings: one in Las Vegas and another in Georgia. They filed for divorce on their second wedding anniversary in August 2024 after months of speculation.

They had previously broken up in 2004 after two years of dating, reconciling later in 2021.

Lopez mentioned taking a small break after filming, explaining how it was a much-needed respite. “It’s interesting—films can provide an escape. They remind us how art can save us during tough times,” she reflected. “Working on this project was truly a dream come true for me.”
