Theft of Hawks from SoFi Stadium

Last month, during a game featuring the Los Angeles Rams and Indianapolis Colts, a hawk was taken from SoFi Stadium. This bird has since been returned to its owner, but a second hawk is still missing.

The two hawks, Baba and Alice, were brought to the stadium to deter other birds from intruding during events. On September 28th, both birds were stolen, along with the utility vehicle they were transported in, by an unidentified individual.

Inglewood police report that a male suspect left the Lakes area on a Kawasaki Mule UTV around 2:22 PM. The vehicle had the two hawks secured in green containers.

At the time of the theft, the keys were still in the ignition, according to the police.

Baba was thankfully located on Sunday after a resident in Hacienda Heights discovered her in his backyard and alerted authorities. The police then contacted the hawk’s handler, Charles Coger.

Coger shared, “I rushed over right away and brought Baba back. I still hold out hope for Alice, though.” Baba was found about 40 miles away from where she was taken.

Currently, it remains uncertain if anyone has been apprehended in connection to this incident.
