AG Pam Bondi Faces Off with Democrats in Congressional Hearing

During a Congressional hearing on Tuesday, Attorney General Pam Bondi had some heated exchanges with various Democrats, notably Senator Alex Padilla from California.

The session with the Senate Judiciary Committee became particularly tense when Bondi challenged Democrats to make specific demands. Padilla attempted to respond but faced interruptions each time he spoke.

When Padilla asked if he believed FBI Director Kash Patel was performing well, Bondi replied, “I think Coach Patel is doing a great job.” But then she turned the question back on Padilla, asking, “Do you know where he is now?” As she continued speaking, Padilla attempted to interject, but Bondi pressed on.

“You asked me a question!” she exclaimed as Padilla began discussing her actions. “Coach Patel is in Chicago right now…fighting to keep Chicago safe.”

Padilla persisted in trying to engage with Bondi, frequently requesting specific directives. Eventually, he pointed out, “You want to ‘order’ here right now, but you assaulted the Director of Homeland Security Krista Noem. Are you sure you didn’t order that day, Senator?”

Despite extensive claims from Bondi, Padilla remained relatively calm, suggesting that the video evidence depicted the confrontational situation involving Noem and subsequent events in June.

Originally, Padilla confronted Noem at a press conference in Los Angeles back in June regarding the protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement actions. He notably reacted strongly and charged towards the podium, leading to a physical removal.

Noem later mentioned that they had a discussion after the press conference, where they swapped phone numbers, and characterized the conversation as “honest and informative,” according to reports.
