Argentine President Recently Awarded $20 Billion Bailout Hosts Large Rock Concert for Book Release

Argentinian President Stages Concert While Launching New Book

On Monday night, Argentina’s President Javier Milei took to the stage—not to unveil a new economic rescue plan amid his country’s turmoil, but to front a rock band and promote his latest book.

This large-scale concert followed President Donald Trump’s endorsement of a $20 billion bailout for Argentina. Inside the bustling 15,000-seat Movistar Arena, Milei transformed the launch into a vibrant musical event, featuring tributes to Israel alongside covers of artists like Charlie Garcia and Nino Bravo, while also remembering the victims of the October 7th massacre.

The live broadcast on state television served as both a campaign rally for the midterm elections on October 26 and a clearer statement of Milei’s political persona: anti-establishment, pro-Israel, and delightfully theatrical. It was quite a whirlwind for him.

This concert marked the debut of his new book, “La construcción del milagro” (Constructing the Miracle), a 600-page manifesto filled with economic arguments and speeches advocating for broad free-market reforms. Kicking off the evening, Milei led the audience in a heartfelt version of “Hava Nagila” as a nod to his faith and foreign policy stance.

Argentina’s government recently secured a $20 billion financial aid package approved by the Trump administration, aimed at supporting an economy struggling with skyrocketing inflation and decreasing dollar reserves. Milei is scheduled to meet with Trump in Washington, D.C., on October 14, to discuss the specifics of the relief and strengthen relations between their administrations.

Milei has cultivated a close relationship with Trump, often echoing his slogans and backing his return to office, even attending Trump’s inauguration in January 2025. Later on, he seemed to mirror Trump’s strategies by instigating a sweeping immigration crackdown in Argentina.
