Riley Gaines and Louis Barker Discuss Parenting
Riley Gaines and her husband, Louis Barker, shared their experiences as new parents during a recent podcast episode. They welcomed their daughter, Margot, just last week, marking a significant milestone for the couple.
On their show, “Gains for Girls,” they dove into various topics surrounding parenting. Gaines emphasized the importance of presenting a united front in raising their daughter. Barker noted that he wants Margot to see him and Riley working together as a team. “I think it’s vital to show her that we’re in this as partners, not as individuals,” he stated.
Barker expressed his dislike for situations where Margot might approach him with a request after being denied by Riley. “That inconsistency is really frustrating,” he mentioned, highlighting the need for consistent parenting.
Later in the conversation, Gaines agreed with her husband’s perspective, reflecting on the lack of role models for children today. “Kids often miss out on seeing consequences for their actions, and that’s something that needs to change,” she said, pointing out how crucial it is for children to have clear guidance.
Barker added that they want to exemplify a loving relationship for their daughter. He acknowledged that disagreements happen but emphasized that they wouldn’t let such issues get in the way of demonstrating a healthy partnership. “We’re not going to be one of those couples that sleeps in separate rooms,” he remarked, addressing a concern about normalizing unhealthy dynamics for kids.
In their discussion, the new parents reflected on the birth process and their first days at home with Margot, providing insights into their transition into parenthood.
