Netanyahu says Trump should get Nobel Peace Prize: 'He deserves it'

Netanyahu Advocates for Trump’s Nobel Peace Prize Candidacy

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reiterated his belief that President Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, attributing this to his comprehensive 20-point peace initiative aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

“Let’s give @realDonaldTrump the Nobel Peace Prize, he deserves it!” Netanyahu declared on the platform X, sharing a post that featured an AI-created image of Trump, beaming with his arms raised as an audience applauded. In the image, confetti falls while Netanyahu drapes a large Nobel Peace Prize around him.

On Wednesday, Trump reported that Israel and Hamas have reached an initial agreement regarding the peace plan.

“This means that all hostages will be released soon, and Israel will begin withdrawing its forces to designated fronts as a preliminary step toward durable peace. All parties will be treated fairly!” he shared in a post.

The president also hinted at a possible trip to the Middle East over the weekend to oversee the cease-fire deal, suggesting that hostages taken during the October 7, 2023, assault by Palestinian militants could potentially return home by Monday or Tuesday.

Other leaders, including Argentina’s President Javier Milei, expressed similar views in support of Netanyahu’s comments online.

“I would like to take this opportunity to announce that I will be signing the nomination of Donald J. Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to international peace,” Milei stated, adding that he made this announcement on Wednesday. He further remarked that other deserving leaders would have received such recognition long ago. “Long live freedom, damn you…!!!”

This isn’t the first time Netanyahu has advocated for Trump’s Nobel nomination. During a visit to the White House in July, he presented a letter endorsing Trump for the prize, citing efforts to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

“The president has recognized the immense opportunity before us. He created the Abraham Accords and is fostering peace around the globe,” Netanyahu asserted during that encounter. “Hence, Mr. President, I’m presenting you with the letter I sent to the Nobel Prize Committee, recommending you for the Peace Prize, which you rightfully deserve.”

In response, Trump expressed his gratitude to Netanyahu, stating, “I wasn’t aware of this. That’s incredible. Thank you, especially coming from you.”

This Friday morning, when the award will be officially announced, will hold significance for Trump as he positions himself as a proponent of global peace. Previously, he remarked that not winning would be an “insult.”
