Dominion Voting Systems has been sold and rebranded as Liberty Vote.

Dominion Voting Systems, which became a point of contention after the 2020 election and subsequent claims of fraud, has been sold and will now be known as Liberty Vote, as announced by its new owners on Thursday.

The company is now under the ownership of Scott Leyendecker, a former Republican campaign manager based in St. Louis, Missouri. He is known for providing electronic poll books across the U.S. and has testified before Congress on voting technologies. Leyendecker is the sole owner of the newly established Liberty Vote and personally funded the transaction, completed in late September.

This new ownership means that Liberty Vote will be completely U.S.-controlled, as Dominion was originally headquartered in Canada.

The specific sale price hasn’t been disclosed. Previously, private equity firm Staple Street Capital purchased a majority stake in Dominion back in 2018 for $38 million.

Dominion has been involved in significant defamation lawsuits against several media outlets stemming from the 2020 election, resulting in high-profile settlements, including a $787 million agreement with Fox News and a $67 million settlement with Newsmax, along with a confidential deal with Rudy Giuliani, a former attorney for Donald Trump.

In a statement, Leyendecker highlighted his extensive experience as an election expert, emphasizing his commitment to restoring public trust in the electoral process through secure voting systems that leverage hand-marked paper ballots.

“A free vote signifies a new chapter in American elections, one in which trust is fundamentally rebuilt,” Leyendecker stated. “Liberty Vote is dedicated to offering election technology that prioritizes transparency, security, and simplicity, ensuring that voters are confident their ballots are completed accurately and counted fairly.”

Liberty Vote is presently separate from KNOWiNK. Together, they plan to implement their systems in over 40 states, as reported by officials from Liberty Vote.

The focus for Liberty Vote will be on domestic staffing and developing software that utilizes hand-marked paper ballots to comply with recent presidential directives. They aim to incorporate strict third-party auditing standards and create a more straightforward and transparent system design.
