NFL Week 6 Preview: Eagles vs. Giants
As Week 6 of the 2025 NFL season kicks off, we have the Philadelphia Eagles facing the New York Giants in a much-anticipated NFC East matchup on Thursday night. Philadelphia is coming in as a 7.5-point favorite, with an over/under set at 40.5. Both teams are eager to bounce back from disappointing losses last Sunday after a short week of preparation.
Here’s a look at some top DFS plays for this Thursday’s action.
Jalen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles (FLEX $13,600, CPT $20,400)
Hurts is the highest-priced player this week and has been averaging 20.8 fantasy points per game this season, making him a solid choice for DFS lineups. In his last game, he threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns, despite the Eagles falling 21-17 to the Broncos.
There’s a bit of uncertainty with the Eagles’ offensive identity—sometimes they don’t pass enough, and other times it’s the opposite. But I think Hurts remains a key player to consider, regardless of what the team is doing overall.
Saquon Barkley, RB, Philadelphia Eagles (FLEX $13,000, CPT $19,500)
Barkley had a decent outing last week, racking up 30 rushing yards and 58 receiving yards, along with a touchdown. However, it was unusual to see him only get one touch in the second half, which is the least he’s had in a game without injury.
Even though he hasn’t quite hit the same explosiveness as last season, he has the potential to excel in this matchup. Notably, Barkley has averaged 86.4 rushing yards and a touchdown over five previous Thursday night games. Considering the Giants’ shaky defense, I think he’s definitely worth considering as a captain.
Cam Skatebo, RB, New York Giants (FLEX $11,000, CPT $16,500)
Skatebo has shown promise in his rookie season and is becoming a major part of the Giants’ offense. In last week’s loss to the Saints, he rushed for 59 yards and had 45 receiving yards from six catches.
Facing an Eagles run defense that hasn’t been particularly strong, there’s a good chance Skatebo could make an impact in this game, possibly even making him a valuable captain choice.
Tyrone Tracy Jr., RB, New York Giants (FLEX $5,800, CPT $8,700)
Tracy returns after missing two weeks due to a shoulder injury, which could significantly boost the Giants’ offense. He was instrumental before his injury, and with the Eagles struggling against the run, he might find some success once again.
Theo Johnson, TE, New York Giants (FLEX $5,200, CPT $7,800)
Johnson turned in a positive performance last week, catching six of seven targets for 33 yards and two touchdowns. He’s been getting better and has scored three times in the last two weeks. With his growing role, he could be a smart flex pick, particularly if he’s targeted in the red zone.
Jahan Dotson, WR, Philadelphia Eagles ($4,800 FLEX, $7,200)
Dotson had a minor role last week, catching one pass for 24 yards. However, if the Eagles emphasize their passing game more this week, he could see increased targets. He might be a sneaky, cost-effective option to consider for the lineup.
