Jimmy Kimmel Claims 'Antifa Does Not Exist' Amid Week When Evidence of Antifa Funding Emerged

In a recent monologue, ABC’s late-night host Jimmy Kimmel stated that Antifa is a fictional entity, coinciding with the disclosure of funding sources behind organized Antifa groups by Seamus Bruner, the director of research at the Government Accountability Institute (GAI).

During his Thursday night show, Kimmel declared, “There is no such thing as Antifa.”

“You know what? There’s no such thing as Antifa? It’s a completely fictional organization,” Kimmel exclaimed, echoing the sentiments of some on the left about the group. He humorously likened the situation to announcing the capture of fictional characters: “This is no different than them announcing they’ve rounded up a dozen Decepticons.” He added a whimsical touch with, “Guys, we caught a Chupacabra!”

Kimmel isn’t the originator of this viewpoint; he’s repeating claims circulating in liberal circles that Antifa doesn’t exist due to its lack of a central command or identification system. Essentially, Antifa is more of a loose collection of local groups, similar to the Black Lives Matter movement, which has various affiliated chapters but no centralized control. Interestingly, while liberals might deny Antifa’s existence, they wouldn’t make the same claim about BLM.

One concrete piece of evidence for Antifa’s reality is its financial backing.

Bruner recently pointed out that prominent left-wing funders, including billionaire Neville Roy Singham, have financed Antifa-related protests and riots, as reported by Breitbart News.

He explained that GAI has followed the money trail into what they term the “Protest Industrial Complex,” revealing numerous extremist organizations that have received substantial funds from it.

“We discovered a network of NGOs that’s not limited to the Soros or Open Society foundations but also includes other funding sources like the Arabella and Tides networks, along with foreign contributions,” Bruner noted. “Some of these funders aren’t even citizens of the U.S.”

He added that these financiers are, as he put it, “pumping money into this whole ecosystem.”

Bruner also shared “three financial facts” about Riot, claiming it has several divisions, including public relations, marketing, and a well-resourced legal team.

“Additionally, we identified many decentralized Antifa groups and numerous extremist organizations that garnered over $100 million from Riot investors,” Bruner stated. “These may include a group of lawyers labeling good, honest Americans as fascists.”

“And perhaps the most surprising finding was that more than $100 million of taxpayer money flowed into these networks, with at least $4 million going directly to some of these entities,” he concluded.
