Vance Critiques NBC for Coverage of Israeli Rally
Vice President J.D. Vance recently criticized NBC News, claiming the network overlooked the positive response from Israelis celebrating President Donald Trump’s involvement in a peace deal between Israel and Hamas.
While appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Vance referenced a report in which he noticed Israeli demonstrators booing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s name during a rally, yet the network failed to highlight the cheers for Trump.
“Kristen, I think your network should take a bit of heat for this,” Vance stated. “I was watching NBC, and they mentioned the rally in Israel. When special envoy Steve Witkoff brought up Netanyahu, the crowd booed, but they completely skipped over the part where the crowd cheered for President Trump.”
At a rally in Tel Aviv, attended by notable figures like Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, speakers emphasized support for hostages held by Hamas ahead of their expected release.
Last week, Trump announced a deal claimed to conclude hostilities and facilitate the release of remaining hostages held by Hamas. It’s been two years since Hamas launched an attack on Israel.
Israeli officials anticipate that the living hostages will be released within 72 hours, but negotiations for the return of deceased hostages are expected to take longer.
During the rally, as participants celebrated the agreement, boos erupted when Witkoff mentioned Netanyahu. He attempted to reclaim attention, stating, “Let me finish my thought. I was in the trenches with the prime minister. He played a very important role here.”
Witkoff noted the cheers that followed when he mentioned Trump. Vance emphasized that this crowd reaction was significant, attributing it to “very deliberate and consequential diplomacy by the president and the entire government.”
