Spooky Season Alert: Strangers: Chapter 2 Now Available
If you’ve been itching to get into the Halloween spirit, there’s some exciting news for you! Strangers: Chapter 2 has just dropped on digital platforms and will be available for purchase or rental starting tomorrow. This sequel to Strangers: Chapter 1 promises some chilling moments.
Directed by Renny Harlin, who was also at the helm for the first film, this is part of a reboot trilogy based on the 2008 horror movie Strangers by Brian Bertino. In this latest installment, Maya Luca, portrayed by Madeline Petsch, grapples with the fallout from an attack by three masked figures known as the “Strangers.” She lost her long-time partner Ryan (played by Floy Gutierrez), but wait, he’s still alive. But the question is, will she be okay?
Gabriel Basso and Emma Horvath round out the cast. However, it’s worth noting that Strangers: Chapter 2 hasn’t made quite the splash with audiences or critics, with a mere 15% rating on review aggregate sites. It pulled in about $13.1 million globally at the box office. Now that it’s out for digital rental or purchase, it seems like there might be an audience waiting for it. Digital Release Date for Strangers Chapter 2
Strangers Chapter 2 is going digital through Premium Video on Demand this coming Tuesday, October 14th. You’ll be able to find it on major platforms like Amazon Prime and Apple TV, with a purchase price of $24.99 or a rental for $19.99. Keep in mind, with rentals, you typically have 48 hours to watch it once you hit play.
As for streaming? Strangers Chapter 2 isn’t on any subscription services just yet, but it’s expected to eventually appear on Starz.
When Will Strangers Chapter 2 Be Streaming on Starz?
Considering it’s a Lionsgate film, you can look forward to Strangers Chapter 2 making its way to Starz in January 2026. Although Lionsgate plans to move away from Starz in the same year, they’ve extended their production contract. This means, under new terms, Starz will keep the exclusive streaming rights to Lionsgate films post-theatrical release.
For context, another Lionsgate film, Shadow Force, started streaming about four months after its theatrical release, so one could assume Strangers Chapter 2 could follow suit. That would land it on Starz sometime around January 2026.
Starz subscription usually runs about $10.99 monthly, but currently, there’s a promotion where you can get the first three months for just $0.99 each. Plus, if you’re thinking long-term, there’s a deal—prepay for a year at $11.99 a month and save a good chunk.
