Titans let go of Brian Callahan in the first coaching dismissal of the 2025 NFL season

Titans Fire Head Coach Brian Callahan Mid-Season

The NFL has seen its first in-season coaching change of 2025, with the Tennessee Titans letting go of head coach Brian Callahan following a tough 20-10 loss to the Raiders, which left the team with a dismal 1-5 record.

Callahan, who is 41 years old, was in his second year with the Titans. Unfortunately, his time in Tennessee culminated in a lackluster 4-19 overall record.

After the loss, Callahan expressed his frustration, specifically calling out rookie quarterback Cam Ward, the team’s top draft pick. “I’m incredibly disappointed with this result,” he said. “We came into the game feeling good, and it’s a shame we didn’t perform well offensively. Cam has to play better football, and so do we as coaches.”

The firing comes just as the Titans prepare to face former head coach Mike Vrabel and the Patriots in Week 7. Titans president of football operations, Chad Brinker, addressed the situation in a statement, emphasizing the need for improvements. “We are working on a strategic plan for a sustainable and winning football program, but we haven’t shown sufficient growth,” he mentioned. “Our players, fans, and community deserve better.”

This is an ongoing story. Please stay tuned for updates.
