Florida Judge Issues Restraining Order Against Rep. Cory Mills

A judge in Florida has approved a petition for a restraining order against Republican Representative Cory Mills. This follows accusations from a woman who claims Mills threatened to share a video that could compromise her safety.

The restraining order was granted by a court in Columbia County, as per documents obtained by Blaze News.

The judge, interestingly, noted that some of Mills’ statements were “difficult to understand and largely incomprehensible.”

Lindsey Langston, a Miss United States titleholder from October, shared with Blaze News that she had a romantic relationship with Mills that lasted over three years. They initially met in November 2021, at which point she indicated he was navigating a tough divorce.

Langston claims that after she attempted to end their relationship earlier this year, Mills made threats regarding the release of compromising images of her life. “Give me your phone number and I’ll send you a video. Please be careful,” Mills allegedly texted her.

“One day, will we all wake up to videos of ourselves on social media?” she expressed to Blaze News, mentioning her concern about Mills having such materials in writing.

She filed a report with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office regarding the alleged threats back in July and then approached the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Mills, during the court proceedings, provided a rationale for his emails, highlighting they were sent in the context of experiences shared by people raised in rural environments. “I grew up in the country,” he said. “You know, I grew up hunting and fishing in Perry and Mayo and all that. We often discussed how people from the countryside differ from those in the north.”

Attempts to contact Langston’s attorney for comments were made by Blaze News, while Mills’ office has yet to respond.

Mills has faced a series of controversies and scandals, including claims of stolen valor and associations with radical Islamic figures.
