Daniel Stern, known for his role in “Home Alone,” was hospitalized earlier this month following a medical situation.
The Ventura County Fire Department reported that on October 7th, they attended to a residence in Somis, California, where someone required evaluation by firefighters and subsequent transport to a local hospital.
Sources close to the situation suggested that the individual was, in fact, Stern, who has since been discharged.
A representative for him informed that Stern is “doing well” now.
The Ventura County Fire Department and Stern’s representatives have been contacted for further comments.
Best recognized for his portrayal of Marv in the 1990 comedy directed by Chris Columbus, Stern starred alongside Macaulay Culkin and Joe Pesci. The sequel, “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” came out just two years later.
Currently, however, Stern enjoys a peaceful life away from Hollywood, residing on a ranch in California with his wife, Laure Mattos, and their three children.
In a past interview, he mentioned, “I didn’t have to work because I earned enough money.” He added, “I’ve earned enough that I’m quite frugal… I bought my house and car with cash. As an artist, I purchased everything outright. I even asked my wife how much I needed to live on interest without working.”
He reflected on his decision to step back from the entertainment industry, noting it was a way to detach from the “overwhelming” nature of fame.
Stern also revealed that he hasn’t watched “Home Alone” in its entirety since its original release, saying he prefers to catch clips or snippets when it airs on television. “What, am I going to crouch down and watch myself?” he joked. “I love this movie. It’s incredible, and I know the script by heart.”
