Harris labels RFK Jr's actions at HHS as 'criminal' in strong critique of Trump administration

Kamala Harris Critiques HHS Under Trump and RFK Jr.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris expressed her dissatisfaction with the current state of Health and Human Services (HHS) under the leadership of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Donald Trump. In a recent conversation with podcaster Kara Swisher at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C., Harris discussed her new book, *107 Days*, which recounts her experiences during the 2024 election cycle.

Swisher began the discussion by acknowledging the unpredictable nature of the news cycle, humorously suggesting that by the end of their talk, there would likely be even more surprises. In response, Harris drew a comparison between her mother’s dedication as a scientist focused on improving human health and the present administration’s approach to science and healthcare.

“Kara, when you consider what they’re doing now—denying science and undermining efforts to battle cancer—it feels deeply personal to me,” she stated, emphasizing her emotional investment in the topic.

Harris continued, saying, “I can’t just laugh at this. Many people I know are facing unknown diseases and cancers without cures. There’s still critical work to be done. What they’re doing, spreading misinformation from the highest levels of government, is a crime. People are going to suffer because of it.”

She added firmly, “I can’t take this lightly, I’m sorry. We need to put a stop to it.”

In a lighter moment, Harris also mentioned her qualifications for the presidency, asserting, “Some people say I’m the most qualified person ever to run for president.” Swisher playfully remarked on that statement, commenting, “Well, ‘some people say’ is quite a flattering phrase!” To which Harris replied, “I’m just sharing the facts.”

Fox News Digital reached out to HHS for a response but did not receive an immediate reply.
