Fetterman Refuses to Label Trump Voters as Extremists

Senator John Fetterman from Pennsylvania expressed his love and understanding for those who voted for President Donald Trump, emphasizing they are not “fascists” or “Nazis.” He noted his unique position as the only Democrat in his family, having been raised in a conservative part of Pennsylvania. Speaking at a town hall hosted by NewsNation, he made it clear, “I would never compare anyone to Hitler or anything like that.”

Fetterman criticized the “extreme rhetoric” used in political discussions, suggesting that it could lead to increased likelihoods of serious outcomes, including political violence. He urged caution, stating, “Let’s let people grieve and give people space.” Referring to the assassination of conservative figure Charlie Kirk, he mentioned that such tragedies shouldn’t be used for political gain.

He also highlighted that Trump had a close call with assassination in Pennsylvania last year, further stressing the need for lowering tensions, saying, “We really have to bring the temperature down.” On a related note, Trump has proposed supplying Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, and Fetterman voiced his support for this move, stating, “I enthusiastically support this.” He concluded by stating that ending wars aligns with the mission of the Nobel Peace Prize.
