Keith Urban Cancels Concert Due to Laryngitis
Keith Urban had to cancel his ‘High and Alive World Tour’ concert in South Carolina after being diagnosed with laryngitis earlier this week.
Just hours before he was set to perform at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, officials announced that Dr. Gaelynn Garrett, his laryngologist, had advised him to “cancel the performance.”
According to a statement, “He has completely rested his voice, and Dr. Garrett is optimistic that he will return to the stage for the Nashville show,” referring to Urban’s upcoming concert at the Bridgestone Arena on Friday night.
Urban expressed his regret, saying, “Hey Greenville, I’m so sorry to have to cancel your show. I know all the arrangements it takes to go to a concert these days, and I have never taken any of it, and you, for granted. I look forward to getting back there when I can!!!!!”
The “Fighter” singer kicked off his tour in May, just a few months before news of his separation from estranged wife Nicole Kidman was made public.
On September 29, it was confirmed that Urban and the “Baby Girl” star had ended their 19-year marriage. Reports suggest they had been living apart since the summer, and Kidman filed for divorce the following day, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
In legal documents, Kidman requested to be the “primary resident parent” for their daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Although they haven’t publicly addressed their separation, their recent interviews and lack of social media interactions seem to imply some trouble in their relationship. Kidman is reportedly “really upset” by the breakup but is focused on moving forward and caring for their children.
After filing for divorce, she quickly returned to the public eye at the amFAR auction in Texas and participated in Paris Fashion Week shortly afterward.
Meanwhile, Urban left the stage in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on October 2nd without wearing his wedding ring, marking a notable change. He did, however, pay tribute to Kidman and their children during his performance that night, despite having altered the lyrics of a song that was inspired by her just days prior.
